I was born in the island of Lh. Hinnavaru, Maldives. I spent 16 years of my educational life in Egypt. Living in the middle east gave me the opportunity to explore much of Europe as a student performing parttime jobs and making friends. I am a communications engineer (B.Sc.) by profession (1980). Professionally I have gained a broad spectrum of practical and management experience over a 37 years period working for Maldives Airports Company Ltd. and with the Maldives Telecommunications Authority in the fields of Airport Operations and Management, Aerodrome Electrical Maintenance, Airport Air Navigation Systems, Air Traffic Control (ATC) CNS/ATM Systems, Terminal and Passenger handling, Ramp Operations, Airport Strategic Planning, Airport Master Planning, Airport Emergency Planning, Airport Business Planning.
I have contributed professionally in the development of Velana International Airport (VIA) in all its 4 phases of development (1981-2021) as well in the development of the Maldivian Telecommunications and Postal services during the same period.
At a private level, I am the MD of Alfa Engineering Pvt. Ltd, a company (Since 1990) that serves the ICT sector and support. I am also the Managing Director of Isle Virtual Pvt. Ltd., an IT based company.
Since 2022, I have engaged myself in supporting the general public in the development and training everyday skills needed from vocational trainings and farming.
I take credit for introducing Alcatel Business Systems, Alcatel Cabling Systems, and Bombardier recreational products to the Maldives.
I speak fluent English, Arabic and Dhivehi and manage with French.
I enjoy traveling and exploring different cultures.

His unique ability to bridge complex business challenges with practical, technology-driven solutions is backed by a strong technical foundation and hands-on experience.

His strength lies in balancing a big-picture strategic view with detailed operational management, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-impact results for clients and partners alike.
Principal Consultant/ Trainer - Buckman Trading
With over 15 years of experience in Sri Lanka’s agricultural sector, Manjula brings hands-on expertise in field supervision, plantation management, and university-based agricultural operations. Currently serving as the Sub Warden at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, he plays a vital role as a Field Supervisor at the university’s farm and as a Field Officer at Hayleys Agro PLC.
He holds a BSc in Plantation Management, a MSc in Agri Enterprise and Technology Management and is currently reading for his PhD at Wayamba University. His background blends academic excellence with practical field experience, equipping him to support sustainable Agri-enterprises and institutional farm management. His Skills include Plantation and field operations, Staff supervision and training, Agricultural technology adoption, Farm mechanization and equipment maintenance, Green farming and Hydrophonic Technologies
